Club announcement on return to hockey
Posted by Julie Kempson on 19 March 2021
Bloxwich hockey club are awaiting details of the full guidance for this return and its unlikely that we’ll receive them before 22nd March 2021. It is therefore anticipated that whilst our sport can return from 29th March this will only be local amongst our club and non competitive (leagues), this is because of the uncertainty on the government guidelines for travel restrictions.
Very clearly and fundamentally the government has stated that hockey on the pitch is safe to play following EH step 4 guidelines.
It is hoped that the next stage of lockdown easing,on 12th April ,that we may be able to move forward to competitive hockey, although of course this is yet to be confirmed. We are clear though, that no tier system will be operated, and therefore the good news is this won't provide the complications we had in the last move out of lockdown.
As a club we are now looking at putting plans into place to return to hockey. We have information on summer leagues that as soon as we have further certainty of start dates we will update you further.
We are nearly there folks!!! Keep checking on our page as we shall be sending through news, events and updates
