Mens league hockey finalised
Posted by Nobody on 10 April 2020
The MRHA league has been ended 2 games short of a full season with places decided by the % of maximum points gained for each team to take into account the odd teams in the leagu who have played 1 more or less than the majority. On the website they have posted the following statement:-
End of Season 2019/20
The Committee have agreed that the 2019/20 season will be regarded as completed from this date.
To calculate final League positions we will use a percentage points basis. This is calculated on total points won (3 for a win, 1 for a draw), minus any points deducted for disciplinary offences, then divided by the total number of points available from the games played, multiplied by 100 to give the percentage. Should teams have the same percentage points goal difference will then be used.
Resulting percentage values are displayed on this website - and though the tables are still shown in 'points' order, a couple of positional changes will be made when the tables are archived.
There are no teams where this small difference affects promotion or relegation.
Using this basis takes into consideration that at the point we have closed the season not all teams will have completed the same number of games and this method gives fairness to all teams.
Final promotion and relegation issues have yet to be finalised - and will be posted in due course.
Club secretaries are in receipt of these details.

Monday 30th March
This leaves our teams in the following places:-
Mens 1s - 9th from 12th
Mens 2s - 9th from 12th
Mens 3s - 12th from 12th
With our Mens 4s and Ladies 4s being friendly teams that just leaves the Staffordshire Womens Hockey League to announce the position for their leagues which effects our Ladies 2s and 3s.
