One of our club members Peter Duckhouse was been selected for the England O70's team which has the past week been in international action in the Grand Masters Hockey European Cup 2019 over in Brasschaat, Belgium.
The England team got off to a flyer in the first pool game beating Italy 5-1, followed this up with a good win over Belgium 2-0 and ended the group with maximum points with a solid 1-0 win over Wales to top their group.
The semi-final was a comprehensive affair thrashing Germany 8-1 and easing their way into the gold medal match in Saturday 29th June.
The final was a very close game with the England O70s drawing 1-1 with Holland at full time and so it went to a shootout. After the 5 takers it was still tied at 0-0 and so it went to sudden death with England eventually winning 1-0 in the seventh round of takers. So it's GOLD!!!! Well done Pete Duckhouse and the rest of the O70s England squad.
Pete played in every game of England's campaign in winning the tournament.
Congratulations
